Today, we’re gonna be talking about showing love to your kitty. To be more specific, giving her more love and attention. As you can see, we have a very lovable text color. So, let’s get started!

I understand if you’re a bit confused, but I’m here to explain. Christmas is VERY soon, so you’re thinking about giving your WHOLE family different presents. Except for your cats. Hmm…that sounds a bit mean, doesn’t it? I know, I know. You might be reading this and are getting a bit annoyed. I know that most of you love your cats, but do you treat them like family all the time? I know my family doesn’t always treat them like family. Sometimes they get very confused when they do something unusual. Sometimes they call them things like alien or creature. But treating them like family doesn’t always mean making them sound like part of your family. Also, they don’t have to act like a human. You can’t just be like, huh, it’s time to feed my cats, but I’m eating my bread! Oh well, I can feed them a bit later. I know I do this sometimes. But imagine this. The only thing you’ve been able to eat all day is banana, but now that it’s dinner time your mom is eating so you have to starve a few minutes more! That’s basically like what cats feel if you do that. If you think this was a bit short, well that’s because there isn’t much to say. Better get Kitty a gift!

All Hail The Senior Pets!

   The meaning for Adopt A Senior Pet Month is a bit obvious, but I’ll still explain. Adopt A Senior Pet Month is the whole month of November, so you have lots of time to prepare. Adopt A Senior Pet Month is all about adopting a senior pet. Most senior pets in shelters are more at risk of getting euthanized because of their old age. They aren’t jumping balls of fur like young pets are. But having a senior pet can be very relaxing. They have more patience, and are easier to teach. Senior pets are very loyal to you, and are mostly more independent. They’re gonna love you forever, and are only gonna love you more each year. 

The Rejected Seniors…

  Most reasons people try to avoid senior pets are:

•  It’s very possible that the person has recently lost a pet and sadly aren’t looking forward to losing another in a few years.

• They don’t seem as playful or funny as a younger cat

• They aren’t as “cute”

•  They don’t wanna adopt at all

• They don’t like the thought of the senior pet easily getting sick

• They wanna be jerks and ignore the helpless call of senior pets 

  So yeah, I hope you decide to adopt a senior pet.

Have you ever wished you could DO something? I feel just like you, and that’s why I made this website. I want to spread the word that our amazing feline friends are disappearing. You can do something to help, and I’m here to tell you how.

Overpopulation of Cats

  This is a HUGE problem. The cats aren’t the main problem. Humans are actually the cause of overpopulation of cats. Humans are deciding to not neuter cats, and instead breed them. Some kittens are even abandoned because their owners didn’t have enough resources to be able to have them! Overpopulation of cats lead to problems like this. Cats become strays, or are even born feral and stay like that for the rest of their life. Cats suffer when the cold season comes, or when there’s a big heat wave. They starve, yet people decide to ignore it. I wrote about this in one of my older articles, but I have a feeling I didn’t include much info. Feeding your stray or feral cats in your area doesn’t help unless they’re neutered. It’ll just make them mate and give birth to even more kittens, which is what we don’t want.

Instead, do TNR, which I find very frustrating when a cat lover doesn’t know about, by the way. Anyways, TNR stands for trap-neuter-return. This is a process where first, you trap the feral cat. Next, you bring the cat to the vet and have the vet neuter and sometimes vaccinate. Last, you return the cat where it was trapped or found. If the cat is a kitten, sometimes the vet would put it up for adoption if it’s young but old enough. One more way is to encourage others to do TNR, if you don’t have enough resources. This is how to help the problem of… Overpopulation of Cats!

Endangered Felines

   Now this is a serious problem, because these felines could become extinct. Almost every feline is endangered, some critically endangered. There isn’t much to explain, only how to help. But main reasons of felines being endangered are: Poaching, deforestation, pollution, natural disasters, or more. One of the most endangered felines is the amur leopard. Scientists think there are only about 50 left in the wild. One REALLY endangered feline is the zanzibar leopard. The zanzibar leopard is so endangered that some people think it’s extinct. Sadly, that’s very possible. The zanzibar leopard hasn’t been seen since the early 1980s. That is, until a few months ago, when a show called Extinct or Alive spotted this rare beauty. Since then, more people have been trying to save this feline. Ways to help are: donate, encourage protection for these felines, or more. You CAN make a difference, just don’t give up.

 Ok, so you’re just doing your homework when your cat starts being annoying. (ok well not annoying cats can’t be annoying its impossible) You shoo the poor kitty, but it keeps coming back. Why? Well, maybe school decieded to take over your life!

The Annoying Battle…

  Welp, you now know that school has taken over your life, but you can’t quit school! It’s important to know your limits. On a school day, I would reccomend going home, do your homework, eat something, and then play with your cat(s). But it’s not that simple. You want to know how much time you should play with them. Playing physically with them and a toy should take 10 to 20 minutes. Giving them heaven (petting them) can take at least 5 minutes. Maybe you help take care of your cat(s). Doing your cat chores takes as much time as you need it to. You just can’t forget your cats, they’re like your guardian angel, (or devil) but very cuddly and sweet. You have to remember these are actual beings. Not are they living things, they have feelings, and you have to respect them like you would with any other person.   Thanksgiving just passed and Christmas is on it’s way! But your cats are BEGGING for your food. Sometimes you decide that’s it’s ok to give them a bit, but soon it will become VERY chaotic!

THE TEMPTATION!

  I know, I know. You’re probably like, “HOW IS IT CHAOTIC?!” Well, here’s why. When you give a cat a tiny bit of food, (after a lot of suffering) your cat will keep asking for more, encouraged by the fact that you did give them a bit of food.

It’s ok if you give them some tidbits once in a while, but imagine this: You’re eating tuna, and your cat loves it and is asking for some. You think, it’s tuna, how will it hurt my cat? Well, maybe the tuna was mixed with onions, and you decide to leave them there. Onions are poisonous to cats, and if you don’t make it to the vet in time, your cat will probably die. Even if you’re sure that it’s not bad for your cat, keep in mind that it’s human food. You are a human, but a cat is a cat. Too much of something (ANYTHING, not just human food.) can be bad for your cat.

Now let’s say it’s still Thanksgiving and you decide to give them more Fancy Feast for the whole week. When that week is over, your cat might decide you just forgot that you gave them an extra can for now on. So they would start asking you for more food, and you would eventually give them more food. But it doesn’t mean you should never give them treats, it just means you should be aware of how much food you give your cat. Well, now you know!

   You might be thinking; “Hmm The Feline Queen spelled Pallas wrong.” Nope! This is an actual cat, so get ready to become a kellas cat expert! 

All About the Kellas Kitty

   So, what is the kellas cat? You might be surprised, but the kellas cat is the offspring of the scottish wildcat (which I also wrote about) and a domestic cat. Now that you know how it was created, let’s go deeper. Since the kellas cat is very rare, the appearance I’m describing might not be accurate. When a kitten, they look like regular grey tabbys. But when grown, they can weigh between 2.5kg to 7kg. Small right? But don’t underestimate this kitty. The kellas cat is 2-3 feet long! It has particularly strong hind legs, and is black with white chest fur. It looks like a regular kitty! But this means that they’re often mistaken for a domestic cat. They get taken to the animal shelter, but often never get adopted. Why? Because it was born wild. The kellas cat is not meant to live with humans. Maybe in the future, but not today. It eats small mammals along with the other things wildcats usually eat. So that’s all, hoped you liked it!

Here’s a cat that’s become ignored forever. But now it’s one step away from extinction.

    Forgotten Feline

You might be like, “ENDANGERED??? HOW?” Or something like that, but it’s true. First, learn a bit about it. The scottish wildcat lives in the highlands of Scotland. It’s very rare (probably because it’s critically endangered) so it’s very hard to tell how many there are in the wild. Most scientists estimate there are about 95 left. Like most cats, they mostly eat small mammals and insects as a snack. Now, many people confuse domestic cats with scottish wildcats. Scottish wildcats are  big dark tabbys and most show signs of living in the wild. They are bigger, and usually have short fur, growing a bit longer in winter. Their tails are a bit like a bobcat’s, round and shortish. (kinda?) Now, for the endangered time.

Endangered Kitties

So now that you’re an expert of scottish wildcats, get ready to become…sad. Scottish wildcats are critically endangered because of poachers, forest destruction, starving, and other cons of living in the wild. But humans are the main cause. Some people don’t even KNOW about the scottish wildcat. But people in the scottish wildcat area are holding programs to help them. If you live there, HELP THEM! It won’t hurt.
